Getting to Livingston

Livingston Area Map | Local Livingston Map

Traveling to Montana is easy, with excellent airline connections on Delta, Northwest and United, which fly into Bozeman and Billings. You can pick up a rental car from any of the major agencies at either airport. Local guest ranches can also arrange for client transportation. Livingston is a thirty minute drive east on I-90 from Bozeman, and about two hours driving west from Billings.

The Yellowstone Angler

Our fly shop is conveniently located on Highway 89 just one half mile south of Exit 333 on I-90. We are right on the way to some of the finest trout fishing in America including the Paradise Valley spring creeks, the Yellowstone River and Yellowstone Park waters. We have plenty of parking space, with room for RVs and vehicles pulling trailers.

Transportation

Most of our clients fly into Bozeman, (the airport is about 35 miles from Livingston) rent a car, and make the short drive over to Livingston on I-90. Delta, Northwest, United Express (affiliated with United Airlines), and Horizon (affiliated with Alaska Airlines) all have daily service into Bozeman.

All of the major rental car companies are represented either at the airport or in Bozeman, including less expensive, but reliable cars from companies like Rent-A-Wreck. If you are flying by private plane, you can fly directly into Livingston. The Livingston Airport has a 5500' paved, lighted runway, and both Av. gas and jet fuel are available. We can make arrangements with a local auto dealership to have a rental car waiting for you at the Livingston airport.

If you are planning to fish the Bighorn as well as our Livingston waters, it may make sense to make your round trip to Billings. Livingston is only an hour and a half drive west on I-90 (a trip of about 110 miles). Most guest ranches provide transportation to and from the Bozeman airport as part of their package. However, if you are staying at a guest ranch and want to do a lot of fishing, having a rental car will allow you much more flexibility.
