We have had a great Fall this year, with many warm and gorgeous days. While the extended summer has been delightful, we welcome the change of weather and mix of cloudy days, rain, and even some early snow in the mountains and passes. While we have had midges hatching even on the brighter days, the clouds have ignited hatches of pseudocloeons and Fall baetis. The pseudos have been smaller, (size 20-24) while the Fall baetis have been larger, (size 18-20). 10:00 – 2:00 remains the best hatch window, although afternoons have also been “fishy” with warmer water temps. At least one monster brown has been caught on the Spring Creeks, we have heard stories of others either on or aggressively swiping at streamers. Someone is going to land another big one, and it might as well be you! Give us a call to book a trip or for a wind report. 1-406-222-7130.
