Beto Mejia and Holden admiring a biggin’…

Awesome August is finally here! And it has actually brought cooler water temps with it, (despite the Hoot-owl restriction below 89 Bridge on the Yellowstone). That said, we do have some hot days ahead of this week. The shop is open at 6:00AM to help get an early start. With the power of positive thinking some nice fish are being caught. In general the fishing has been challenging, but every now and then the big ones slip up and we get a glimpse of them. Chubbies, rubber legs, smaller tungsten bead nymphs, and sculpin patterns have been the go-to in the morning. In the afternoon try swapping out to a hopper rig of some kind. This could be two dries or a hopper dropper set up. If you are fishing below 89, anglers must quit at 2:00PM, otherwise the hopper bite can often go until 5:00 or even later up high. Give us a call to book a trip! 1-406-222-7130.
