With the arrival of warmer weather people are starting to get the fishing itch. Most the of the boat ramps are now usable, although it may be another week or two for Loch Leven’s ice shelf to melt. We did not check from Big Timber down yet. One thing to watch out for still is the wind. You might not want to commit to a 10 mile float if the wind is gusting over 25-30mph. (Looks like the wind is predicted to gust anywhere from 6-43 the next few days depending on the area you choose to float). In general further south will get you less wind. f you get lucky you might see some fish rising to midges in the foam eddies. We have seen bwo’s on the Paradise Valley Spring Creeks, but not many on the river yet. People have been nymph fishing and slowly stripping streamers with good success.
